I like Hollywood crap, and I am proud of it!

With some of the recent postings degrading all that is Hollywood, I would like to come forth and proclaim in a loud voice "I LIKE HOLLYWOOD"

I like to be entertained without having to think every once in a while.

Seriously, I don't care that a "six shooter" is supose to only have 6 bullets.

I don't care if the bad guys all have really bad aim

I don't care that Will Ferrel would have no chance in hell with Christina Applegate in real life.

I don't care that the Jedi are incredibly attuned to their surrondings, yet can't figure out a plot involving thousands of people.

Really, if it makes the movie funnier, have more action, lets the good guy win, etc. Then I am all for it.

I'm right there with ya. Bring on movies like "The Core", "Armageddon" and the up and coming "Stealth". They are fun, no brainer, pop-corn films that entertain. These types of films are the reason I built a dedicated HT room in my garage.
    If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

    Here here.

I also like to be entertained by the overly unbelievable.....sometimes.
I draw the line when it comes to John Woo films. Way too over the top for me but other than that I enjoy the make-believe world of hollywood.

True, sometimes I have those moments too but most of the time I prefer quality. Hollywood produces quality movies too like others do bad movies. It's just that we rarely get to see these bad movies. I do have to admit I sometimes am bothered by the "Hollywood touch" that smooths out the movies. Robs them from emotions and roughness. I want to see more films like Cuckoo's Nest, Das Boot. SPR, while a damn good movie, is something I like to bring up as something that lacked emotion. Sure there was sadness but it was the typical Hollywood type that was very lacking. With a little melancholy it could have been a great movie.

I find it exhausting to watch nonstop intellectual movies all the time, sometimes you just have to jump into stupid. Who cares, it's just a movie, and no movie is a life changing event.

Agree 100%. Movies are suppose to be a break from reality. There is nothing I enjoy more than a cheese-ball Sci-fi channel movie with huge **** bugs and stuff....

I would not mind all the crap if it was orginal crap. It seems like all the movies that are coming out now are nothing more than remakes of older movies. Where are all the fresh movies?

Don't mind the odd "Hollywood crap" once in a while but now a days there's just way too many of them!

Than you got Hollywood heavily promoting it's junk while the good stuff you have to drive to no-man's land to see them.

Sure I like to be wowed by the special effects and surround sound just like the next guy. To me they're called the "Summer blockbuster" flick ie; War of the Worlds, Revenge of the Sith. It's just the truly bad movies (ie- MTV made movies that pass off talentless singers as actors) that bugs me.

It's all about quantity than quality now. As long as these crap movies are making money than that's all that matters. Followed by its crap sequel, or remake, or pillage of ideas from foreign movies.

So I guess it also depends on your definition of "crap".
