You might try getting a slab for your subwoofer to help contain the vibrations.

Sorry to hear about your PC Ultra and its power! :p

how close is your SVS to your TV? maybe it's to close. I haven't really heard of this happening much at all. Lots of people in here use SVS subs and have never had this kind of problem.

Other things to consider... how loud the sub is. are you running it to "hot" meaning way over driven so it's to loud? Is the subwoofer plugged into the same power outlet as your TV? if it is.. you may need to plug it into a different outlet. It may be pulling to much electrical power during those loud passages in the movies.

Also try turning your sub volume down. You probably have it set to "overkill."

I have the 2039+ and to help it I put 3 spikes on the bottom and set it on square concrete pads from Home Depot. It smoothed things out tremendously and no more excessive house shaking.

I'd back the volume off some on your receiver's sub setting. Perhaps -4 or -5.

You and your buddy should take it easy on that bed.

Sony TVs are notorious for shaking picture during bass heavy scenes. My 35 inch model shakes with the CS-350LS on top of it.

I got CSI5 on the top of the SONY TV,I don't see any logical reason for picture shaking regardless of heavy bass!!!I used different location, different outlet...no improvement at all.. :D

I didn't say that there is a logical reason for it to happen. It just does. I searched for help over at AVS forum 2-3 years ago when I noticed the problem and found that Sony tends to have this issue.

I first noticed it on Eagles HFO bass lines, since they are separated and consistent, it was easy to see what volume it happens at to avoid over driving. I fixed my issue, I went to a smaller system on that TV and installed a front projection HT in another room. :D What a great excuse for an upgrade, huh?

Just a bad design from the leader in tube TVs.

I forgot one of the most important parts.....

About 10 squash balls hot melt glued to the bottom of that concrete pad. The set up really absorbs any un-necessary vibrations of the flooring cabinets etc. etc.

The 'shaky effect' you see on the CRT may be a physiological event. In my old car setup, when the bass would hit, crt monitors that I was looking at outside the car would appear to shake, but the effect was happening with my actual eyes and not the monitor itself. You've got a lot of bass in a tight space, so it could be the same thing.

Kinda like sticking a vibrating electric toothbrush in your mouth, kinda shakes the eyes around and makes things you are looking at shake. I think its just **** with your TV though :p

It doesn`t jiggle the picture on the tv though

maybe you should sell it to me and get a smaller one... :D
