You got me on the title LOL:D.
I'm not into those "high end buds". My boss got a pair of $250 Shure buds. I got to try it out on my Discman using my music and IMO it's a complete waste of money. It blocks out ambient noise but the sound quality is no better than my Sony buds (which I think is the best when it comes to buds btw).

I thought it would be the smoking kind too. I figured plenty on this forum can contribute to the thread.

13th Gen African Indica with glow in the dark hairs....damn, NM. Waiter....check please.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

ROTFLMAO:D:D:D
Glow in the dark hair, wtf? That's some crazy stuff. Best stuff I ever smoked was Purple Haze and another which was just as good is Northern Lights (so I was told). Pretty sure it was because my friend was gone after two good hits:D. I used to toke daily. Been clean for almost a year now.

Glow in the dark hairs? Sounds like you planted too close to the plant..if you catch my drift.
Only a year..that's great organ! Thought we'd almost lost ya there for a second.

I bet I could grow a plant that glows in the dark. I live right next to a hydro field so maybe that can do some funky stuff to the plants. Don't wanna know about my little soldiers though.
LOL I had one of those brownies before. I had no idea it would take close to 2 hours to fully kick in. After an hour, I wanted to get higher so I smoked a j. That kicked in hard and the brownies continued to kick in for the next hour. Man, I was TRIPPIN!!!:D. I made special cookies a few times after that.

Interesting. Which model were they? I tried the highest end of Shure buds and was really impressed with the low end output while watching LOTR:TT. Can't speak for the SQ of them overall though.
Sound and Vision did a review of several buds. Its probably "last month's" issue by this point.Brian Knauss

BK,
Not sure which model # but they go right into your ears. Once they're in place, you can't hear anything outside.
My Sony buds play deep enough for me. The secret is the way you stick them in. If they don't fit tightly, you don't get any bass. Once they're properly in place, they sound excellent.
Did S&V have anything interesting to say about the buds?

It was a short article... basically gave price, quick blurb on sound performance, and also how well they felt in your ear. Unfortunately, I just glanced over the article while at B&N and didn't really digest the info. They might have the article online at this point.Brian Knauss

Cool. I'll look for it. Should be interesting.

Back on subject, I currently have a pair of the Shure e3c. Its middle of the road for them. They are very comfortable, despite pretty much rubbing up against my brain. What impressed me the most about them is the soundstage. They do a great job of creating a very spacial effect.

You want to see an expensive pair of headphones?
How about the legendary Sennheiser HE90/HEV90 electrostatic headphone and electrostatic tube amplifier...

I know they arent earbuds... but tomatoes/tomatos.. eh!Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -
I like Sennheiser but that's a waste of money. It's an obvious venture into those that have that kind of money to spend....and it's sad really.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Try a trip over to Head Fi. They can give you the run down on ear buds. I went with the full size Senns with a tube amp. I was thinking of pairing my 650s with a tube, instead I went with a Gilmore design - class A ss.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -

Not that they're "high-end" by any means. But I listen to my Sennheiser buds every day at work. They sound excellent to me. I have the MX550. I think that's one of their cheaper lines, but I'm not sure.
By the way, I have never heard speakers of any sort break-in, except these. Definitely these have broken in and sound much better than when bought. But they took a long time to break in. -

So the MX550 is good? I have their predecessor, the MX500, and I think they're excellent. I've heard that the MX400/450 is basically the same model, except fot the volume control, which may even provide for better sound.
Oh yes, at least 80 hours of break-in with these Sennheisers. -
Yeah, I like the 550's. Like everything else though, probably subjective. Here are my reasons...
1. Comfortable in my ears.
2. Bass is excellent, but only after the really long break-in time.
3. I can hear details more than I can on my Lsi's. But that may be just because they're freakin sitting in your ear -
I'm surprised I haven't heard Etymotic Reserch mentioned in this thread. I purchased the 6i Isolator Earphones for use with my portable tunes for traveling & exercise. At first I was very disappointed in their sound, but when I finally figured out how to insert them deeply enough (like earplugs) so they totally isolate you from your environment they come alive and have a really fantastic sound stage. Together with a flash player they are really great for exercise, long plane rides, or even just mowing the lawn.

As far as listening to my home system (when the Polks start driving the wife crazy), I still prefer my favorite Sennheiser HD-580 over the ear phones; they are the best IMHO. I'm listening to a GRP Sampler on them right now.SDA SRS 1.2
