So I got bored at work today(I work at RS), we decided to do a comparison of our Monster THX ultra video cables and our gold series composite video cable. Now before this I've never seen or used even an S-video connection. All I can say is wow. We were simply amazed. We tried out a HT set-up disc that we had, and some of the tests were simply amazing. It's making me want to upgrade my "HT" even sooner then I had planned.

    Ok, I'll bite.

What were you comparing (just brands, or brands and connection types)?
    What cable won?
What were the differences you saw that made you think it won?

It was mostly connection type, we went from low rung on the ladder to our top rung. I was just simply amazed at how much sharper and clearer the picture was. The color looked cleaner and not nearly as dull. One of the tracks on the demo disk is kinda weird, on the composite video connection, the screen would be jumpy, and have a rainbow of colors flashing on it, but the component it was a gray/black/and white screen with some writing, kinda weird. Like I said, we were bored at work, which was when I posted this. I guess I was just kinda wondering if anyone else had the same type of reaction when they upgraded their cables/signal type. Are you gonna see that much of a difference from lets say radioshack gold series component video cables to the totl cables?

regardless of cables at this point... the S-video will look better than a composite signal. it's much improved over the lowest possible video quality. that being composite. S-video is between composite and component in terms of quailty. Some S-video cables and connections can look dang good. and very close to component quality.

it's cool that you saw the difference.
