Last night I was checking out the Decware site and I saw that somebody was using these together. I never considered Polks to be high efficiency, but at 90db SPL they definately aren't sponges either. I know he wouldn't be able to rock the joint, but I bet they sound good together.

Ever since that dang Midwest Audiofest (MMMmmmm Edgarhorns), I can't get tubes out of my head.

Dean - Yeah, I know, Anthem. I'm saving my pop bottles and counting my nickles. I'll get there the day after it's gone.

Did you actually get to hear the Edgarhorns? What did you think about his sub. I wanted to go, after all -- Lima is only an hour from here -- but I had to work the whole weekend:mad:

With Polks -- I would want at least 40 wpc. I don't care what the tubeheads say.

You can get a used Jolida integrated for peanuts -- and you wouldn't have to worry about a preamp. If you don't like it, you can sell it for what you paid for it.

Anthem Amp1's and Pre1L's and 2L's are always popping up on Audiogon if you decide to upgrade.

Dean: I spent about 1/2hr. with the Edgarhorns. They were awesome. His Slimline series was in the next room. I was in awe of what a 10w/ch ($2500) could pull out of these things. His subs were real nice, obtrusive, but nice. Reeeaaal nice!

Check out page 2. "Any Midwest Audio buffs?" or something like that.

The Edgars were effortlessly accurate. They were playing some acoustic jazz in both rooms. I wasn't familiar with the material, but damn it was good!

I'm hesitant on used tubes from somebody I don't know. I know very little about tubes. The only things I know (am learning) is that they sound great, wear out, and a mismatched replacement (even both channels) can sound pretty bad.
