Subs DX vs MOMO

Kim,
Have a pair of DX 10 4ohm, planning to upgrade to MM100.
Would I hear much of a diference in SQ or SPL ? (Using the same amp 225 watts X 2)
The lower notes appear to be muddy. Would upgrading to MOMO's make a difference ? I have them in 0.65 lt q-logic truck boxes which have a plastic baffle in the rear. Would changing to a hatchback enclosure help any ?
Maybe I need 12 inch subs instead.
