SVS owners + Hardwood floors...

How do you guys do it?

I had my SVS on a hardwood floor for about 5 hours the other week...

You wont believe how many times I had to move that thing back to where I had it 10 minutes before...

That thing, a lil 550 dollar sub... was walking across the room. Those lil rubber feet do NOT work.

How can yall take it? lol

I place everything I own in a certain spot...if it constantly moved..Id go bonkers!

    Thing was bouncing around.

    No, I just spend alot of time in my room listening to music, and my stereo is setup for precision. My mains are the same exact distance from the side walls and back walls on one corner. Different toe in angles though.

    I just like things -right.-

    I hate dust to.

    But seriously, that SVS...I was sitting about 2 feet away, and every 10 minutes or so...I would feel this "bump" at my leg...lol

    so your SVS was humping your leg? Or was it the other way around? :D

    gmorris had to put a piece of carpet under his monster sonosub to keep it from walking on his tile floor.

    Your good with wood: build a tie down plate- Put 2 25lb weights mounted on a crossbrace through the gap between the speaker and the base. If the SVS can move it's own weight plus 50lbs, it deserves to go wherever it wants.

    buy one of those rubber mats you see in gyms. They stick to the floor like glue. BTW, you should probably spend a little more time in the gym. At your age muscles, not SVS' get chicks.

    I'm a bit worried because we are getting hardwood floors in the next year or so and mines downfiring with casters.... time for a giant area rug.

    Sid,

    Let Ron (rons@svsubwoofers.com) at SVS know the problem you are having. I seem to recall that other owners with hardwood floors have had the same problem and SVS was able to help them.

    I've had some of the wifes dainty crystal stuff moving on a table next to it and on the fireplace mantle, but can't really say the PB12-Plus has moved at all on the hardwood floor. I'll have to put some chalk lines down for reference. I didn't install the rubber feet that came in the bag. It just sits on the rubber feet that are attached to the legs.

    Nah, I have a carpeted floor.

    Was just asking a general questions how owners delt with this...as it would drive me crazy.

    I would -hope- your box sub hasnt moved. Those things are HEAVY. My SVS only weighs 60 pounds (CYLINDERS RULE! ;))

    As far as the box subs moving around,i have a svspb2+ that i recently had on a marble stand that had 1 inch carpet spikes glued to the bottom of it.I had to remove the sub from it because it would rattle the the spikes on the concrete even though it was still going through some really thick carpeting and padding.

    thatseems to suck. my box sub never moved but it was 4 ft by 4 ft by 2 but my new sub will move the wall and it is over 200lbs
