I've only used them when I get image problems (freezing, etc), and 99% of the time it turns out the DVD is damaged...... In my current Denon 1910 have never used one so far (approx. six months of use).

HT Rookie, do the RTi speakers sound a whole lot different on hard wood than on carpet? I heard that, on a hard suface, the sound quality is a lot better. True?

Sorry laundry.... I've only heard them where they are now.....

Ive heard though that if you have hard floors it is a good idea to put an area carpet between the speakers and the listening position...never tried that either. They sound pretty good for me just how they are.
