MB Quart Q's vs Polk Momo mmc6500

Has anyone compared these two component sets against each other. If so what are the advantages they make the mb quarts sound better than the polk momo's. I mean are they louder or is the midrange bass stronger and more uncolored, and the highs how much difference can you tell between them.

No way I'd have a speaker called the "Q" in my car. Polk wins.

since this is about your ears, not ours, i'd say you should hunt down a shop that carries both, tweak them both to your liking, then listen to both...
offhand, i believe that the q's are usually described as being more 'neutral' ('boring' is a term some use instead)... it's also widely accepted that the polks sound as good as speakers costing twice as much...It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon

While I haven't heard those polks, I can say that the MB Q's are a very detailed set. The highs are very bright, even harsh, right out of the box, but with some time, tuning, and tweaking, they sound wonderfull. Probably not as much midbass as the polks, but still enough. Come down to Polkfest in sept, I'm sure you'll be able to compare them. I'll bring my truck with the Q's, and there's gotta be someone with the polks, or maybe we can borrow a pair from polk HQ. :cool:1993 Ford Ranger super cab:

The MMC6500 are $350 a set, and I believe the Quart QSD's are $1200 a set. I think there might be lower "Q" line, but I'm not sure. We have a set of QSD's here that we used for comparison with our SR6500 when we designed it. The SR6500 at $750 is a better comparison to the Quarts, the Momo's are nice but not that nice...

The MB Quart Q is an awesome sounding speaker. It WAS my favorite on the market (now second to the SR's).
The MMC6500 is also an awesome sounding speaker capable of as much detail and clarity as the Q.
The differences that I notices are the Q has better midbass and a more natural sound and is smoother on heavy guitar parts.
But again, $350 vs $1300.
The MB Quart Premium line is the one below the Q and is a better comparison. As far as these go, Id take the Momos over the Premiums. I think the Momos are just as good as the Premiums but $200 less.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

After about 75 hours of play time on my new MMC6500s, I have to say that I'm very pleased. I've owned Quarts in the past (15 years ago) and I loved them, but the Polks kick their arse. Now I haven't had the opportunity to hear the newest MBs, but they'd have to give me an **** to justify the $600-900 difference, and that's the conservative estimate seein that I got mine installed for $225:D ."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I got mine for $550. If I wasn't able to get them for so cheap, I'd be running my polk DX's still.1993 Ford Ranger super cab:

I think they have gone up on the price of the sr6500's. The list price is now showing 899.95 compared to the 750 before.

I agree, as the price of the MB's are high. I purchased my first set in 95' at full retail and haven't regretted it, they still sound great even after 10 years. I have installed the QSD's in my other car, and bought them from the bay for 550.00, unfortunately I have had to replace one of the crossovers, (200.00) direct from MB but, it still was about 500 off of retail...def. audition them in your ride if you have a chance, I think you'll sway towards the MB's...

Yup, the Q's are great. They are my second favorite speaker, second only to the new SR's (with the mighty MM6 running in 3rd!)
