I am building a single ported enclosure for 8" db sub using (Polk's car audio sub plans) section for the specs its fairly detailed but doesnt say anything about internal bracing. So Im not sure if thats included in the .60 cu ft. --Thank you for any help

nope, any internal bracing you choose to add will change the internal volume, and you must change the box dimensions to compensate.

    just be happy you're not doing a slot-port :)

could not imagine the box needing bracing that is that small with a polk 8" sub. Just build the box properly and you should be fine

    Agreed.

A small box with only 200 watts isnt going to need bracing. Sure it cant hurt but unless youre running 1/8 inch wood, I cant imagine it flexing.

Now if you are building a much bigger box with lots of straight, flat pieces and using a lot or power, then youd need some support.

i'm dumping something like 2,000 watts into box around 2 cubic feet with no bracing other than a divider wall.

I used to pump 1,300 into boxes that were 1.43 cubes with no bracing.

just build a healthy box dude. 3/4 inch birch ply is PIMP stuff.

Birch plywood is all Ill ever use from now on.

I just built one out of 1/2" birch ply and its as strong as my previous box made with 3/4" MDF. More expensive but worth it.

Another benefit is that since its stronger you can use thinner than usual and thatll give you more interior volume that takes up less space in case youve got tiny little areas for subs like my truck. Definitley wasnt designed by a car stereo enthusiast.
