Another good one, really enjoyed because it was something out of the ordinary, original story line that was very solid and interesting.

that movie got a lot of crap, but I really enjoyed it.

It's easy to hate on Will Smith, but if you take him for what he is, he's good at what he does...

I was also pleasantly surprised by this one. I still use the "you are having an accident" scene as a good surround / bass tester :)
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Do you mean you have burned a DVD demo disc with all the great demo scenes one after another? All money-shots, as it were?

I would love to have a demo DVD to pop in and play one scene after another without having to flip discs in and out of my player while excited newbies tap their toes and wade thru the various FBI warnings and menus.

Did you make a disc? Is this something that can be done?

As for the idiotic movie of I ROBOT, I recommend you read the book, which is old-school sci-fi at its best.

If you like the book, you wouldn't like the movie. I,Robot the movie is a mindless but fun action movie set in the future, involving robots. The book is, as Micah said, old-school sci-fi.

Of course I didn't do it, because copying any part of a movie would be illegal...

But some guy I know, he did it (he's gone now though, he moved to Russia or Canada or somewhere). And when he did it, he used a program called DVD Shrink to grab all the individual scenes from the various movies he wanted, then he used a program called DVD Styler to create a menu for the DVD and burn the DVD (DVD Styler has a Nero plugin that lets you burn directly from that program, at least that's what he told me).

Anyone attempting this would need a DVD burner and a copy of Nero (CD/DVD burning software). Nero runs about $50 or so...DVD Shrink and DVD Styler are free downloads...

So, would you be able to contact this mysterious guy (in Canada or Russia or wherever) and, if supplied with a list of specific scenes, have him burn a DVD of those scenes with full high quality image and 5.1 sound?

I mean, just supposing is all? I'd never ever want to do something like this. I am a firm believer in copywrite protection and stuff. Natch.

You don't need Nero either. You just need DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter, which are both free.

And any Joe can do that for you. Shouldn't be a problem.

Not an expert on copyright laws, but I'm sure even accepting the disc for personal use would also be illegal. I don't have anything against it, but I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't legal either.

I liked this movie quite a bit. There are some great surround sound scenes, some very well done action scenes. The story line was pretty damn cool IMO.

Yeah, the freeway attack scene is what I use when I want someone to experience my Buttkicker. As those two trucks come rolling up to his car, the couch starts to rumble... and when he finally flips his car and it smacks the cement post, the couch gets a nice THUMP. :D
