I found a realistic pa-25 tube amp today... for guitar/mic use but it has 1 el84 1-7189 and a pair of 12ax7's with 6v4 i assume for rectifier.. what kind of wattage will this put out? and would it be worthwhile to play with to use for home audio? i know its mono..
or im just gonna sell the tubes... amperex, gold pin realistic and rca ax7's

It's a little single ended amp, probably 3-5w.

Sorry, I didn't see 7189, yes, not exact copies internally, but same pinout, same tube. It's push pull then, probably 8-9w.

The output bandwidth will be limited relative to a 'hi-fi' amp, but it may well sound just fine. As long as it has a line-level input, you are good to go for mono -- but do put two correct, matched output tubes in it. It's probably overdriving the EL84 that's in there. If you can't find a used pair of 7189's, I think there are new production (probably Russian) ones available... I woudn't bother with NOS for something like that.

The JJ EL84's will likely run fine in that amp, they're robust little suckers. The real joy in those old PA amps is in converting them into guitar heads...they rawk!
