Onkyo M-282 amplifier question

Will the Onkyo M-282 hook up to my Onkyo TX-SR601, and allow me to run my RTi10 fronts from the amp, and the other speakers through the TX-SR601? I want to add this to send more power to my fronts. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Landry

Landry

I used the center channel pre-out on my rcvr with a y adapter and sent the center signal into my m282, from there it powers the L&R rt55's on each side of my t.v.
Works good for me.Skynut

Thanks for the reply Synut. I have been thinking about getting this unit for my fronts. Do you think it will make a noticeable difference for music in 2-channel stereo mode?Main Set-up: 55" 120 hz Samsung LN55B650, Onkyo TX-SR806, Emotiva XPA-5, Emotiva XPA-2, PS3 Slim, Sony BDP-S560, Apple TV (160g), Panamax M5300-PM, Polk Audio CSi5, RTi10's, FXi3's, RTi4's, and SVS PB12 Plus

My 787 is rated @ 100 wpc and so is the amp so I did not notice any more clarity or power, however I am only using it as additional power for the center so it did improve the soundstage.
If it has more power than your rcvr then you will probably notice a difference.
Personally I like the amp for the cost I paid.

Wow, all this discussion and the most important part is being missed
Does your receiver have preamp outputs? That's the question you need to answer before anything else.
I could be wrong (but I'm not), but I don't think your receiver has preamp outputs...meaning you'd have no way to hook up another amp to that receiver. -
I saw this amp on Circuitcity.com, but I would save buying it from Vann's. That would suck.
If you buy the amp and then need a new rcvr to play with it.Skynut

Aww damn! It doesn't have the preamp outputs. Thanks Polkmaniac. Just to help illustrate
Here's a diagram of the back of yours... -
and here's the 787 that skynut has...section 4 is the preamp section that you're missing...

How about a Y splitter from the sub out for the amp hook-up, and run the sub from the front left and right? Be patient with me PM, just trying to learn as much as possible.:DMain Set-up: 55" 120 hz Samsung LN55B650, Onkyo TX-SR806, Emotiva XPA-5, Emotiva XPA-2, PS3 Slim, Sony BDP-S560, Apple TV (160g), Panamax M5300-PM, Polk Audio CSi5, RTi10's, FXi3's, RTi4's, and SVS PB12 Plus

Then if you can get the amp, pick it up. If not, save a bit longer and buy it when you can. -

Nope, I wouldn't suggest that. If you're looking for an upgrade in sound on the front end, I'd look at first upgrading to a receiver with preamp outputs. By the time you sell yours and buy another one, you should be able to make this move for fairly cheap, less than what you were going to pay for the Outlaw amp.

Thanks PM. You got me on the level.
