I know there were various incarnations of the Monitor7, original, A B and C, Series 2. Are certain versions more highly thought of? I have a chance to pick up a pair cheap but the seller does not know which version he has. I will see them tonight. Any thoughts?

Well, I am not expert on the later versions, but I think the Monitor 7A is preferred. It has the larger, coated PR and the Peerless tweeter. The only downside (in some opinions) is that the 7A has two fuses: a tweeter fuse and a system fuse. Maybe some sonic downside to this (?).

I may be rationalizing, of course, since I've had a pair of 7A's since 1978! :-)

I just brought my 7's home! They sound very nice. The back panel has a fuse above bananna type connectors. The tweeters are a fused somewhat clear dome, 2500's? What model do you guys think I have? Thanks.
