You may want to look up Frank Z, Signal Cable is top notch and should be in your catalog if possible.

I doubt he'd do that. The price would double. Not to mention they make them by hand.

Although, the Magic Power Cable is in a Velodyne subwoofer! Congrats to Frank!

Also look at Epos, Wharfedale, Sony, Pioneer, Klipsch. Be aware of which ones are carried in big box stores near you though.

Yeah, but for the prices they pay for them, they could get some serious gear.

I think Zero had it dead on, avoid giving customers too many choices. I would add that what lines you do choose to carry, make sure they have different qualities. For example in the early 80's Polk and ADS were price comparable but played to different audiences.
You know your area and what the competition offers, especially the big boxes. Avoid what they carry. You'll spend too much effort and still lose out. Instead, do your homework, find the lines that aren't represented.
Secondly, welcome owners current equipment auditions against what you carry. Make sure to have space between display items. Offer in home trials (just take a picture of equipment with customer and a deposit before sending it on its way). I would be closed on Monday instead of Sunday if you are doing a 6 day week.
Make sure your sound rooms can be closed. nothing worse then having an entire store full of customers forced to listen to the pathetic rants of Eminem (The BestBuy curse).
Next, make absolutely sure your employees understand that everybody hears differently. No quicker way to lose several customers than to put down what they currently have because your salesperson doesn't like the equipment.
Salesmanship does still matter. Keep plenty of brochures and magazine reviews around, even photocopies. Initial lookers love having something tangible to take home. Don't be afraid of having the store properly lit. Nothing worse than customers not being able to see what the equipment offers. Finally, customer service does make a difference!! My father's pharmacy not only held its ground but increased business in spite of having 3 major grocery chain pharmacies closeby.

PHunt, why don't you tell us a little more about what your setup will be like.

This might not help...but i'm looking for some speakers for my dad's house.

These were gonna be in the 600-1k range.

Brands i was looking into are Canton, Paradigm, B and W, Axiom , Aperion , Rocket by Onix, Mourdant Short.

I'm having problems hearing them no dealers carry them. I heard the canton's LE's but wasn't too impressed.

If anyone has any personal experiences or recommendations in my price range for 2 floor standers please PM me I don't want to Hijack! =).

    Good luck

The paradigm Studio 60's are very nice, I think the have more depth than the RTi10, but have not heard them at same time, so my opinion isn't very valid.
