Anybody seen the new Ebay Paypal policy going into effect next month? All sellers must accept credit card payments thru paypal and must be willing to upgrade to a premier or business account. If you don't they can cancel you listing. What do you think. It's in their general annoucements section of your messages. They want to Quote: "level the playing field".

Yeah....I can just see the dismay in their faces. Oh darn, we'll just have to charge EVERYONE 3% now :(
Heaven forbid they just change the logo for the different types of accounts

No problem, just don't use PayPal. Watch how fast they change that policy when the PayPal revenue drops like a lead balloon.

paypal sucks always has. the big question is who is going to emerge as the finacial leader for moving money. charging a percentage is a great way to make easy money, whether you paid 1,000,000 or 1 the cost to paypal to do the transaction is pretty much the same but look at the difference in the fee they get. kapish!!!!!!

I wonder if ebay will soon charge a fee for sellers that won't accept paypal "to level the playing field".

If you accept U.S. postal money orders, here are two pages worth looking at. There are some pretty good fake MO's being made.

I completed a deal with someone recently that stated specifically that they wouldn't accept MO's based on this premise. I don't even use them being that Cashiers Checks are free at my bank, but found it odd that it was a solid NO WAY **** type statement.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

For those (like me) whose bank or credit union charge upwards of $3 for cashier's checks this sucks. The post office money order's have been until recently a great deal. Paypal is no friend either. Plenty of people have been burned by them including myself. This is one reason why some sellers won't accept paypal.

You might think that after nearly two decades of devious schemes out of Nigeria, and a decade out of eastern Europe most everyone would have heard about it? Apparently there are still quite a lot of soft headed people among us.

The IRS may have put pressure on them. Hey, now that everybody has a "business account" , Hmmmm, everybody is going to owe taxes on all sales funded by Paypal. Hey, you're selling as a business now, you must now pay because it is no longer a casual sale.

    I got a $920 refund from PayPal...no questions asked.

Won and paid.....seller disappeared...he had good enough feedback to participate in the PayPal Buyer Protection program, so after the 10 days they have to try to clear the "Paid, no shipment" issue with the seller, I got the full refund in my account.

For me, this kind of protection is worth paying a %....

    Just my opinion.

    BINGO!!!

And in order to avoid your non-conformance and to keep from getting penalized, they will gladly retain those taxes to forward to the proper agency....

Per eBay's rule seller canot charge 3% to buyer paying with Paypal because credit card company wouldnot allow the upcharge to buyer for use credit card.

well the change won't affect me.. since i'm already a premium PayPal account member. but it still sucks for those people who only use Pay Pal on occasion.

PayPal stands to make a HUGE amount of money over this.

I'm just afraid new users to Ebay will think that Pay Pal is the only accepted form of payment.. and will not choose any other form of payment. I guess it's a monopoly on the market.

Paypal and eBay are both anti-2nd Amendment if anyone needs anymore encouragement not to use them.
