Ive been looking for a decent performing SMALL sub, as space is limited.

Has anyone ever heard one of these:

Better pics here:

The price seems too good to be true, but I have read several promising opinions of it at Audioholics forum. Can't find an actual review of it anywhere, but I know their car audio stuff is decent.

Also wondering about the Onix Rocket ULW-10. They havethem on special for $399, but onlyin light maple, doesn't match my decor, black is $499.

that sub is almost half the cost of the other one you're looking at. I'm not sure how much justification you're looking for your bang for buck. Wheter the better sub is "worth it". Of course HSU and SVS will pop up as recomendations.

For 229 shipped for the "watts" and sub it doesn't look like a bad deal at all. I just wish they had a frequency/spl chart on there so you can get an idea of performance.

The Cadence fits into the cheap but decent sub category. The Rocket, Outlaw, SVS or Hsu are all in a higher cost and performance niche. Once you are crossing over into the $400 and higher subs, you get into subs with true deep frequency ability, not just boomy 30 hz bass. The Cadence would have more in common with Polk and JBL models than the Rocket.

But have either of you ever heard this sub. Retail is supposedly $699, which if true, would put it in a higher class than the others.

And I am aware of SVS and HSU. The only HSU that will fit is the STF-2, and I'm not sure it has enough power to keep up with the SDA-1C's.

I was going to get the SVS 10" and turn it sideways, but they want $48 to ship to michigan, which is gouging, I shipped a 65 pound sub last week to Illinois, and it was only $17.43. They also charge tax in MI, so the $429 priceends up being over $500 delivered.

I stopped by BestBuy on the way home from work, they have the Klipsch KSW-12 on closeout for $299 ($200 off).

They didn't have it set up to listen to. Is this a decent sub? The specs look good, but don't they all...

They have two left new in the box, and that's it. Are they any good? It will fit in the small space I have available.

Onix, HSU, and SVS are all online stores.

Their prices are 2-3 times LOWER than they would be in a store.

Nothing you will find OEM is going to compare. Face it. You need a SVS, HSU or Onix.

You won't regret it. I recomend getting a SVS myself. SVS will provide the best all-around performance.

SVS won't fit. And tax and shipping add $75 to the price of their cheapest model, see the post above.

I ended up getting a Polk PSW505 brand new for $345, It should be here tommorrow. I figured at that price, it will do until there is something that will fit from the better manufacturers. I shouldn't lose too much on resale at that price.

do NOT underestimate that HSU. in a small room, they'll easily get the job done with the SDA 1c's. I use one as a rear sub in a very large room. I experimented with using it alone for kicks and giggles and was very impressed by its performance. plays well overall and is especially remarkable with music. very smooth, refined quality bass from that little sub.

It's not really that small of a room (20x17), there just isn't much space for a sub, with all the furniture, TV, Audio rack, and the SDA-1's. The sub has to go in one of the front corners, but if it sticks out more than 18", it will be on top of the heating and cooling ducts.

The Polk PSW505 is shielded, which opens up the possibility of placing it on either side of the TV.

Where do you get them new for $350? HSU has them at $425 with shipping.

And the one on ebay is already $335 with shipping. Too much for used, if they are available for $350 new.

They are also charging $35 to ship, although I did read it wrong, so it's up to $325.

Well, the merchant I ordered my PWS505 through, who insisted it was in stock, has just sent me an e-mail saying my order is cancelled. So I'm back to square one.

To those who keep insisting SVS, Iit will NOT fit, so that's out. I am now trying to decide between the Onix Rocket ULW-10, and the STF-2. The built in auto equalizer on the Onix looks very interesting:

    http://www.audioholics.com/productreviews/loudspeakers/OnixRocketULW-10Reviewp1.php

And it will easily fit in my location, anyone actually hear one of these?

There are no real audio dealers in my area, so I can't actually audition anything before ordering.
