Saw this and my jaw dropped-you would expect someone looking at LSIs would at least know SOMETHING about audio. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-xJT5nR2ua5k/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=37900&id=review&i=107LSI7E&cc=07

"Yes, these are great sounding speakers. No, they are not worth anywhere near $800! I would call them "arrogantly priced". Compare them to the $100 Polk R15."

    idiot.

and $680 is asking too much.

He probably doesnt know squat about audio. Even more likely, he was trying to run them off one of those high end Zenith receivers!

Who is the bigger idiot? The guy who writes the stupid review or the one who buys (or doesn't buy) speakers, because of their reviews?

I started to write a counter-review, but then I decided I was wasting my time, because really, reviews are worthless. If that guy doesn't think the LSi's are worth the money, well... that's why they make the R-series!

One thing that's true though is that if you're going to run LSi's off of a HT receiver- especially a sub-$1000 receiver-- then they're probably not a good value for you, as you'd likely get better performance for your dollar from the Monitor or RTi line.

If he is comparing them to R15's he probably ran them off the same garbage receiver he ran the R15's with. Receivers alone have enough trouble with Lsi speakers, let alone garbage receivers.

Their 88 db efficiency and their 4 ohm load (yes i know the lsi7 is closer to 6 but whatever) make then very hard for a garbage receiver to power. Someone who has bought something from Crutchfield give them a positive review so there isn't just that negative crap sittin there.

of course he likes the R15's. With the money he saves, he can buy alot more black tar heroin, which he must be using in abundance!!!!
