Is it ok to sit speakers upside down? since my system is at my desk, I have to have them higher. I was wondering if it is ok to sit them upside down so the tweeter is closer to my ear?

As long as you own them, you can do what ever you want with them. I would suspect that they are too close to you anyway to get a good stereo effect. Try at least to setup an equilateral triangle between you and the speakers, with the tweeters facing inward at you.

Yup, it's fine. I had my sub upside down on a lambskin thing to keep it from walking around on my wood floor. The port was on the bottom so I had to flip it over so the air could move freely out of the sub. Your speakers will be fine, you could even lay them on their side if you wanted to.
