Upgrade for DS7200 system
At first I wanted to add a set of RM7600 speakers to replace the stock ones since they have 1" tri-lam tweeters and 5.25" woofers just as the RT25i does, but I found out there could potentially be some difficulty in double filtering since the RM7600 speakers have a built-in high pass filter preventing them from making any bass below 150Hz and in the DS7200 the necessary high pass filtering is done electronically. So, when placing another satellite speaker on the system there is the risk of double filtering and changing the low response of the RM7600 and not matching the upper response of the woofer. You might would have to go into the satellite's crossover and remove the high pass filter part, if things sounded disconnected.
So instead, I recently replaced the stock DS7200 speakers with a CS245i center channel speaker from Greg right here at CP, the mains with a pair or RT25i which I already had, and the surrounds with a pair of RT15i which I picked up fairly cheap locally since none of them have any built in high pass filtering.
This is a MASSIVE upgrade IMO over the stock speakers, even though they are crossedover much higher than they could be thanks to the DS7200 system's built in fixed settings. Plus, it was a lot cheaper and easier to find than a set of RM7600 would have been.
Any of you who have the DS7200 should at least consider this.
