I usually hang out in the home theater forums, but I need some help with my car audio.
I installed siruis sat. radio a couple of days ago but I am having some issues with the sound. There is a annoying distorted almost crackling type noise coming out of my tweeters. It is only with the sat. radio. Normal radio and cd's are fine. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

if it only happens with the sat radio...then it has to do with that unit...the connection...or possibly the hu/sat section on the radio.

What unit(s) did you add. what kind of connections. Details will help us figure it out.

Thanks for the help. I have a Starmate ST-1. I just have it running via the wireless FM transmitter into my h/u. I have a feeling this may be the issue.

I was just about to ask if youre running wireless. Those things are just not trustworthy in my opinion and can let in a lot of noise.

My guess is that is your problem.

Is there anyway to hard wire it into my stock Infinity h/u? I drive a 2004 Mits. Eclipse GTS. It has the upgraded Infinity sound package. I hate to ask stupid questions but I'm a novice in the car audio area. Thanks for the help.

The starmate fm transmiter isnt all that bad actually. One of the better ones in my opinion. I sell them all day long, and bought one for my dad. Try changing the station that it sends the signal on, that might help as well.

Check out this website HERE . If they don't have anything, nobody will. The link is an application guide. Look at the Chrysler listing or call if you're not sure. At the bottom of the PDF, look at the notes for Chrysler to determine if your HU will work. If you have a changer, you'll lose that function. HERE is the main site.

From the way it looks, you would have to get another Sirius tuner. One that has RCA outputs.

HERE is one. It's a little pricey, but a nice piece.

The model he has has outputs. Just pick up a cable that goes from 1/8" stereo jack to RCA's. Anywhere from $7 to $30 at radioshack.

I hate to beat a dead horse here but my issue is I don't know if my h/u has outputs on it so I can just run a simple rca cable. I've looked everywhere for specs on it but have come up empty. Any ideas short of pulling the h/u would be great.
    Thanks for the help.

i highly doubt that your stock hu has preouts... but i believe the RCA suggestion was meant to run rcas from your tuner... i'm not terribly familiar with your type of setup, but it's worth a look
