Preservation Hall Jazz Band... Must own!

Wow. Who owns any of their CD's? If you like classic New Orlean's Style Jazz, you have to pick up their "Because of You" CD. It's an older one (recorded in 95, published 98) and has a banjo player/singer who's 86 years old when recorded. His voice is so classic "Nawlin's" I love it. The music is amazing and the recording is superb. This is one of my new reference discs in terms of staging/imaging. You can sit back, close your eyes and perfectly place each and every member. It's amazing... Now I have to pick up a couple newer CD's. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

    If you ever go to New Orleans you can catch them playing live.
    They play sets every night at Preservation Hall on St Peter Street in the French Qtr. The band uses no amplification at all. They play 4 songs plus an audience request tune. It is a great expereince, espically when they do "When the saints come marching in" medley. I make it a point to visit P hall every time I am in New Orleans. I think it costs about $7 or $8 a set. You will stand on line to see them as you can not purchase advance tickets or make reservations. The hall itself is rustic and holds maybe 50 people (uncomfortably due to the heat and cramming). I am glad to hear you enjoy their music, it is very special.
