Is this just a gain control, or does it boost specific/or range of lower frequencies?

    this thing? that's just gain, yep. fyi, the pre-eq button on the 300.2 and 500.1 gives +9 dB @ 45 Hz, 1/3 octave width.

    I find the remote gain controller to be very helpful. I listen to a wide variety of music and this helps to even out the bass output. For example when going from bass heavy hip hop tracks to something like older Rolling Stones or the Doors.
