Ive been sick as a dog since Friday and last night tried to sleep so I could try and go to work today.

Well by midnight I couldnt sleep as I felt like **** and was coughing and hacking and all kinds of nasty stuff. So I decide to take a Tylenol PM. Hell my wife pops em like Tic Tacs so I can handle ONE!

Well I wake up to a ringing phone about 9:30.........Im supposed to be at work at 5:30! My alarm was turned off so I must have turned it off when it first started buzzing but since I was virtually unconscious I dont remember.

Luckily I have an exemplary attendance record at work so they believed my story.

Oh well, I got an extra days rest.

Let me tell ya, there is no worse feeling than waking up FOUR HOURS after youre supposed to BE at work!! Gulp!

Did you ever come home from work during the winter and take a nap, wake up at something like 6:30 p.m and you think its the following morning because its pitch black outside?

    Talk about freaking out..:D

Try waking up to get ready for a final exam. Having a shower and getting ready to leave then realizing the clock says 3:30 not 8:30. 5 Hours to go and I'm and ready. Crashing from lack of sleep just about the time they say "begin".

I did this once when I was around 10 years old. I got up around 7:00PM and it was pitch black outside. My Dad was sitting in the family room watching television and I FLIPPED OUT! I was like, "Dad! You're late for work! Mom is going to kill you!" I then rushed upstairs and started getting ready for school. My brothers and Mom stopped and stared at me and were like, wtf are you doing?!?! Man, I can still remember that feeling!

I was the opposite. Say I had a final at 8:30 a.m , I would get up at 8:25 and fly to my final. Still half asleep, I would be trying to read the questions...

I was late 1 time in 15 years of military service......

    Guess when it was?

....the day I was to get pinned-on (SGT) by my Commander. Imagine that feeling. I woke up that morning swearing to my wife that it was Saturday. The C.O. found it humorous, thank god.

Those over-the-counter medicines with the sleep aids knock me on my ****. I always feel groggy the entire next day. My wife can get up at 3AM and take them though.

LOL! Yeah, I guess he realized nobody in their right mind would purposely miss a day like that. Getting that SGT designation is about the biggest day ever for an enlisted person. Was that USAF?

This is exactly why I only take 1/2 doses of meds I don't normally take. You can always take more if needed. The 1st time I took Tylenol PM I took 2 and slept like a baby until mid-morning and woke up feeling like a truck ran me over. That S**t just doesn't agree w/me. :D

yea, i have to set at least 3 alarms and put it where i have to get up to turn it off...the sad thing is it still takes 3 alarms to wake me up almost everyday even when i have to get up...
