I received this DVD player as a gift and I dont need it. It is brand new unopened.

    Hey MyYork, welcome to the forums. Keep bumping the thread for a few more days. SOmeone will want to pick this one up. I have a Sony SACD/DVD player as well- and they're really nice.

    I agree, just give it time.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I think Sony makes excellent disc players- especially for the money. My DVD/SACD changer is a Sony. My CD changer is a 16 year old Sony model. Both are excellent products.

    I just think their receivers/speakers are sub-par, that's all. :)

    It seems to be general consensus that Sony makes good CD/DVD/SACD equipment, so, being of lesser knowledge than others, I'll reluctantly agree. Especially since I see Denon and other big companies using Sony parts in their media players. However, I'd rather have a different name on my equipment. One of those personal preferences.

    oh yeah well Denon may use Sony parts but a Denon player i'm ASSuming will be better than it's Sony counterpart, but regardless I still like my 2 sony es changers. Very reliable, very heavy.
