My dream sub on ebay with no reserve. The guy had it on there last week starting out at 8K & no one bought it. Im guessing it will sell for 5k or so. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3275&item=5787003432&rd=1

    An absolute waste of money.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I had no idea what I was looking at and thought that it looked like a bookshelf speaker until I saw the 700 lb./$700 shipping fee.

It is over 7 feet tall!

Some of the most beautiful speakers I've EVER seen in person...

Absolute jaw droppers by any standards...

That high gloss black finish is like a brand new car... just absolutely amazing finishes...

As for the XS, its output isnt impressive (the SVS PB2 Ultra and B4 could probally easy keep up with it... but I would hope its musical abilities would far exceed anything. I would hope.

Also note that the XS is passive... so the amp to power it would cost alot of cash as well.

    They are incredibly ugly online...

You have to see the beauts in person. I dont particularly like those Silver rings around the woofers though...

But anyways, the Wilson Audio X1, Cub, And Puppy are some incredibly beautiful pieces of work...

As for their price... I agree... very overpriced.

Somethings just look better in person, infact... most all things do. Dont understand why you would judge a 2-D image that has a colored (as in not true) image and no actual depth to it...

As for their sound... definetely isnt worth their asking price by no means.

If the overall shape of the speaker doesn't appeal to me, then there's no way that the finish would mean didly squat.

Well yeah, they do have a unique shape...

I guess there are only so many ways you can dress up a box right?

I give them "props" for doing something different and adding lines and curves to what could just be a tall rectangle...

I guess it isnt for everyone eh... But just curious why you dont like the shape of the XS... since its just a rectangle ;)

Hell if i know......haven't seen it.

I'm not in the habit though of checking out speakers that are a) completely beyond any realm of possibility of owning, b) ugly, or c) all of the above.

I like what I have, both in looks, and in sound, so i tend not to try and torture myself.

    Cars on the other hand...........SIGH.......

I wish I could hear the destructive power your staircase chucks out. I can only imagine as I have the little brother atlas (a 15" to boot) and you have four avalanche 18s.... do you destroy things on a regular basis with them?

As for this thing I think from the pics it is pretty damn ugly but like sid said some things you just have to see in person to appreciate.

Ganz -- got a solution -- how about downsizing your IB by selling off 2 of your 18's for a fraction of what you paid for them. I'm sure someone on this forum (i.e., me) would be happy to do the deal. :p
