Something I seen on this forum while doing a search one day gave me some ideas.

So I'm going to do this to my UPS as for as wiring / outlets / IEC connections. See here if you haven't yet....

This wiring thing was all new to me so to get my feet wet so to speak, I made this up first.

    ..

I finished the end's with Marinco Hospital 15amp plug & IEC connector.

Using this on my Halo A23 amp powering RTi150's.
Over all sounds really sweet, cleaner noise is lower. Bass seems deeper, the highs seem more pronounced as the noise is lower then before. I can't wait till I get my UPS done.

What kind of wire did you use and how come you have two grounds? I've never actually tried an aftermarket / diy creation powercord so making one for myself would be a cheap way to try one out.

Sorry the wire is 12g stranded, 2 grounds, 1 hot, 1 neutral.

Wired as H G G N start by crossing to the right Ground over the other Ground, thus bringing both Grounds to the outside. Then cross Neutral to the right over Hot thus bringing Grounds to the inside. Over and over again, I don't know for sure why this seems to improve the sounds / noise levels. Larger copper more amps, wire crossed over and over again canceling noise in AC line? Maybe.

Cool. I'm not sure what wire you used but it may need to burn-in and smooth out.

Cool... I just might have to snag some wire and connectors next time I'm at a home depot or princess auto. Thanks for the info and let us know if it sounds the same after a week or two (burn in making a difference or not?)

    Michael_w and Dcarlson,

Here to report back Wire is Home Depot 12g stranded 600v wire. I say its AC power cable not audio cable in anyway.

If you have noise in your AC line, a cord like that would work to cancel it because of the crossing?

This noise I found was in the CD player paused, volume up all the way with ear close to tweeter you hear some white noise. I made this power cord up and one of the things I noted right away was that this noise was lower with this cord over the stock cord.

    Odd maybe, maybe not?
