Venus Williams cam back from behind to spank Davenport in one of the greatest Wimbledon women's tennis showdowns ever. Venus wore her opponent down with mental stamina.

Gee, I wonder if Venus will get $100 million in endorsements like last year's winner did.

    I claim complete ignorance when it comes to profesional tennis. So if this is a dumb question, I am sorry.

    Is there random drug testing in tennis? Just looking at the Williams sisters it is almost obvious that they are juicing.

    Spanked Lindsay? Not quite. Lindsay had 3 match points in the 3rd set and they had to go 9-7 to finally win. Id say it was a close battle all the way.

    And Lindsay had injured her back and thats what wore her down.

    Venus wont get $100 million in endorsements cause she's fugly. It sucks but its true. Lindsay is one of the greatest players ever and you dont see her in any tv commercials. However, Venus isnt hurting too much for endorsements.

    At least Sharapova is good. When Kournikova was getting billions in ads, that was a travesty! She never won anything!!

    Hey, bottom line -- she lost. Yeah, Lindsay played well, but not quite well enough. No excuses.

    Venus had to remind her who the better tennis player is.

    Yeah! Lindsay is older and injured and she STILL took Venus to 9-7!!! Venus squeaked by.

    All in all though, it was a great match!

    I'm sure there are women built way more than the Williams sisters... it's just that they don't choose to play tennis.

    You're right. Venus was the better player. Today. Tomorrow she might not be- that's what great about the sport. The only thing that seems to be consistent is the brillance of Roger Federer, and that might even change in a few hours, who knows. =)

    Don't get me wrong- I don't have anything against the Williams sisters. To me, It's all about the father. He blamed the fans for Venus and Serena struggling the past two years and even alluding to quasi-racism in a press conference a few days ago as to why Venus and Serena have been in 2year slumps.

    Nevermind that the competition has gotten better, MUCH better. Nevermind that the Williams sisters are often distracted by other marketing ventures- such as their own clothing lines.
    Nevermind that they have both been struggling with injuries in the past two years.

    Always excuses. Always black. Always white. While I like and respect the Williams sisters (especially Serena) I wish the father would simply shut the f--k up.

    This is the way he's always been. Everytime one of them got a bad call it was "racism".

    When Venus won her first Wimbledon this a-hole jumped up with a big sign "Its Venus' Party And Youre Not Invited" waving it all around.

    And when Irena Spurlea bumped into Venus when they were switching ends about 6 years ago, Venus started with the "racism" crap.

    And one year at the US Open I believe when Venus' beads kept coming out and were scattered all over the court and the ref docked her points for it, you guessed it, it was "racism".

    And Serena elluded to "racism" when a reported commented that the "Venus sisters brought a greater altheticism to the game". How the hell is that racism?!?

    I was all for Venus when she first came out thinking "great! Here are some badass Americans gonna whoop up on some of these Euro-weenies" but when they all started playing the race card everytime one of them stubbed their toe, I was done.

    I can't stand any of the Williams'!

    I do like pulling for Davenport, Federer, Hewit, and Sharapova, though.

    Update: Yeah- Federer is the best tennis player i've EVER seen. The dude's not even in his prime yet. Scary.

    I think Sampras was the best. In his prime I dont think anybody could have beaten him, but Ive not really seen Federer play that much.
