Speaker Choices

I need help choosing new speakers. There are so many brands out there to choose from, its making my head spin. I would like to get floorstanders but I will settle for bookshelves with stands. I'd also like to keep the price under $700. The less I spend on speakers, the more I can spend on electronics to run them with, so budget needs to be kept in mind. I don't want really nice speakers and a sherwood receiver to run them with.

I have been considering these.

I'm definetely open to suggestions though. PM me, post it here, I don't care, just help me find something nice :)

Based only on what I've read, I'd get the Triangle's.

Just stating the obvious here AP355, but I'd put a lot more stock in what others have actually heard rather than what they've read.

Actually that means very little to me. I've listemed to folks rave over this speaker or that piece of gear...then when I actually hear it I don't like it. Professional reviews at least give me enough technical info to determine if I want to make an effort to demo it or not (or purchase if there is a decent return/exchange policy).

    Zero,
I like all sorts of music, but the majority of the music played on them would be rock and trance. So something with a big soudstage, and smooth tweeters is usually what I opt for. I'm nervous about getting the triangles because I'd be buying them based off a review in a magazine and they are more expensive so if I didn't like them it would be harder to recover from. The JM Labs would allow me to keep my sub too. (I'm selling my HT to get a 2 ch rig, and if I buy more expensive speakers the sub needs to go to help pay for them.) Is the Daline equivalent to the modern Elektra line? When you say they are a better then the speakers I own now, do you mean my JM Lab chorus or my rti70s? How about the cabinet damage? Is there any way to lessen the obviousness of it or am I pretty much stuck with it?

Did you like the triangles you heard? How do you think they'd compare to the Dalines, with my music taste. If I get the Triangles I'd have to sell the sub too.

Are there any other speakers you think I should look at? I'm open to suggestions.
