Those are some nice pics! I have a Gateway DC-m42 that I hate... it was fine when I got it, but now the bloated rating of 4mp just isn't cutting it. Neither is the 3x zoom. This _will_ be my next camera-

Oh, and here are some of my more favorite shots that I've done w/ my camera. I like nature/storm shots:
(Don't mind the guys loading drywall into the house in that one :P)
I had three more to show but the links aren't working. The forum is trying to make the link a code that it shouldn't be. It has to do with the long filenames in my links. Darn PHP gallery...Ludicrous gibs! -
Nice pics.....I really like the rainbow shot.
I also like landscape/nature pics. I can shoot these all day.
Kodak cameras are really nice, especially with the 10x optical zoom. Canon just came out with a 12x opt zoom. These cams are great because you can get so close to wildlife, sporting events, concerts, etc.

Those pics are nice and clear. The mountains are nice and relaxing
The A70 has been out for a few years now and still takes great pics.
I tend to take a lot of pics also, especially with a 3mp camera and a 512mb card.Receiver: harmankardon AVR235

I'm happy with the A70 for the price. I'd like to get a better camera but my priority is always audio.SDA-2a, Anthem Pre-2L, Anthem Amp 1, MF A324 DAC, Rotel RCD1070

Nice photos Mike. I like the ones you took in the Bahamas.
Right now I am using an HP 3.1 megapixel digital camera. It does okay for now, but I plan on getting a better one next year some time, and give this one to my kids. I don't travel enough to get some of the spectacular shots you have, but I want to some day.Main Set-up: 55" 120 hz Samsung LN55B650, Onkyo TX-SR806, Emotiva XPA-5, Emotiva XPA-2, PS3 Slim, Sony BDP-S560, Apple TV (160g), Panamax M5300-PM, Polk Audio CSi5, RTi10's, FXi3's, RTi4's, and SVS PB12 Plus

I have a buddy that is a profesional photographer and he recently switched from 35mm to digital. He is partial to Nikon (as am I) and has a big **** SLR digital costing around $10,000! The kicker is its only 5 megapixels!
He claims the megapixels arent that important. Its the sensors and all that make all the difference.

The lense makes a big difference in consumer-grade cameras. The camera I linked to above has a nice lense on it... My current camera... doesntLudicrous gibs!

For my b-day my parents bought me a 4.2 mp Sony Cybershot with a Carl Zeiss lens. I have no idea who Carl Zeiss is but the camera takes really good pictures. I've got a nice picture of Old Ironsides with the Old North Church in the background between masts from my trip to Boston a few weeks ago, but the file's too large and I don't know how to resize it with photoshop."I got into the music business thinking it was really radical, that it wasn't really a business at all, that it was a lot of people being artistic and creative. Not true, and it made me very depressed."

Your friend is right. Megapixels only tell part of the story. The size of the sensor used (more MP packed on to a smaller sensor causes more noise), the lens, and the in-camera processing are very important.
Consider megapixels to be the equivalent to wattage in audio terms. Megapixels are most familiar to the customer and a lot of people make a decision based on how many MPs the camera has. This has caused manufacturers to jam a lot of pixels into digicams just for marketing purposes. And more MP doesn't always mean better pics.

Carl Zeiss is an optics manufacturer. They make very good optics for eyeglasses, microscopes, telescopes, and lenses for cameras.
To resize a pic in my program (Zoombrowser) I just open the image and click edit, then resize. I'm sure photoshop is similar

It's not digital photography, but it's digital artwork...
This is a low-res version, I render these at 3200x2400 -

That is cool. Did you ever go to the website, visualparadox.com?

Nice pics! I have a Canon 10D that I got about a year ago to use instead of my 35mm film EOS A2E. I have a Powershot A80 I really need to learn how to use it better.
It was my birthday gift last year when I turned 18. I have used it to catch neighborhood kids throwing rocks at my neighbors house at 1 a.m. though...

Very nice shots!
Nice to see Mike using the ol' Durango-as-a-tripod trick
Here's a sunset where I used the lime silo-as-a-tripod trick.
