If you had to pick one of these which one do you think is cleaner and sounds the best?

offhand, i like polk, so i'll pick them, but amps don't usually 'sound' different... you choose an amp based on build quality, features, and price (and i do it in that order, your priorities may be different). pick whichever has the features you need at your price point, both are excellent manufacturers. It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon

I personally would choose the Polk. Assuming I just found a wad of $100 bills, lol. MTX amps are way overbuilt, and underrated, and are also very clean. However, the Polk amps are....well...Polk amps, lol. They're also over built, underrated, very clean, have tons of features, and are also backed by an amazing customer service center (that is, if you need one).George Grand wrote: »

Agreed.
A watt is a watt and unless its altered by an EQ or processor its going to sound the same from amp A as from amp B.
That being said, Id probably take the Polk because of the crossover network but I think the MTX has a little heavier duty build quality.
Like Neo said tho, both are excellent brands so go with the one that has the features you want, looks the coolest and is most within your budget.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

I would choose Polk for the customer service alone. In fact, I just did, picked up a C400.4.

Good for you brother!
I really like that amp. Plenty of power and a great x-over. If I were in the market for a new 4 channel that one would definitely be on my short list.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Congrats, PT! How's that new Mustang coming along? Is this for the audio system? What have you/will you do to it under the hood?George Grand wrote: »

Man, that is going to be one sweet ride when it gets done! Congrats, man! I figured you'd have it by now, actually. What's taking so long on it? Has it left Ford and is now in Saleen hands?
That's gonna be a beast!
EDIT: Oh, nice sound system, too! Though, I'd ditch the rears and go with front components.George Grand wrote: »

My finished car will look like this. Gee, I can't imagine a better attention grabbing car for Polk to sponsor....

Basically, Ford didn't make enough '05 Mustang GT's. Most of the dealers around here wanted $3K OVER msrp for the cars they did have. I refuse to play that game, so I put in an '06 order as soon as I could.
Yeah, I'm kind of up in the air with the rear speaker thing...
06's don't start getting built til the second week of August. The supercharger install and fine tuning will be done here locally at SuperTune Performance. They currenlty have an '05 churning out 485rwhp with stock internals! I'm going with a more "conservative" 350-390 at the wheels. -
I hear ya about the price thing. Makes sense. Would be a good lookin' sponsor car, for sure!
I would encourage the front components instead of front and rear speakers; but whatever you decide on is going to sound pretty awesome.
Congrats on the whole thing! Awesome car!George Grand wrote: »

Not sure of the times on it. Here is a pic of their car doing a burnout at my favorite bar Fuel.
