Are you asking if you can plug an amp into the switched outlet on another amp?

If so NO  These outlet are for very low wattage devices, under 100w easy.

I am looking for a current sensor. Something which would trigger on my amp when the preamp is turned on. My sunfire is in a stand by mode. When current is turned on with my receiver the amp turns on. Current off it turns off. Is there a unit that can do this.

does your preamp have a switched outlet on it? plug a 12 volt wallwart into the switched outlet on the pre and hook that to the sunfire voltage trigger.

edit: I'm assuming that the sunfire has a voltage trigger... if not you can get power strips that have 12volt triggered outlets.

Your amp will have a trigger output. Your pre has Two of them (quote) from the manual):

Power Control Connections - The DC TRIGGER jacks are used to remotely turn-on other devices in your system when the Model 950 is powered on. Power is applied to the MAIN Trigger
Output jack when the Model 950 is turned on from the Standby Mode. We recommend that this jack be used to turn on a compatible power amplifier such as those available from Outlaw, but it may also be used to activate compatible products such as projection screens or motorized blinds.

Connect a 3.5mm mono mini-plug between the DC Trigger MAIN jack on the rear panel of the Model 950 and the low voltage trigger jack of the device to be controlled to enable remote turn-on of that component. The ZONE Trigger jack is activated when the Multiroom system is turned on and should be used for control of amplifiers used to power the speakers installed in the remote zone. It will remain activated as long as the Multiroom system is on, even when the Model 950 is in the Standby mode for the main room.

    You can do it.

Your amp also goes into standby until it senses a signal. You could go either way...
