The Eagles Farewell 1 dvd that came out a week or so ago is incredible! It's one of the best sounding live dvd's I've ever heard.
Elliot Scheiner mixed it and he's the best 5:1 mixer in the business. For those of you turned off to 5:1 music, you really need to hear his mixes. They fill the room with sound and sound
amazing on my SDA's. The Eagles have a great horn section and
also a string section and their vocals are still fantastic. Check out this dvd and play it in DTS 5:1 if you have the setup. You won't
be disappointed.

I can't vouche for the 5.1 DTS mix however, the DD 2.0 mix is very good except that it lacks in the bass department. Timothy Schmidt's bass is almost non-existant and seems to be buried in the stereo mix.

In the 5:1 mix, Timothy's bass is thumping and very audible.
The horns and strings are crystal clear and Henley's vocal on
'Wasted times' and others is fantastic. The backing vocals are great also.

I guess it's time to upgrade my Yamaha RX-V595 (no DTS).

just bought the 2disc set today. Incredible.

"You Belong To The City" has the sax come in on the Surround "BACK" Left and Rights and it's breathtaking. It sounds just as good as any SACD i've ever heard- and that's saying ALOT.

Just got this used for 14.99 last week.

Outstanding as usual. The Eagles take great pride in their music all across the board. From excellent concerts to outstanding CD's, DVD'V's & DVDA's.

That's why they have lasted 30+ yrs!
