i just installed the mmc 650. my question is how do you wire this thing to a 4 channel amp. no matter how i wire this thing its like the wires are crossed on it.

You take the crossover and put the amps front left channel's positive wire into the crossovers positive input. Then you take the amps left front channel's negative wire and stick it to the crossovers negative input.
Then you take the output wires and run them to the speaker. The tweets terminals wont fit on the mids terminals so you cant screw that up.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

heres the thing i tried to run it stereo it won't work that way. the only way i could get it to work was to bridge it. I bridged the left front and rear channel to the left momo and the right front and rear channel to the right mono. It sounds good like that but i had planned on wiring it straight so my fade and balance would be right. I have that little alpine 40x4 on them so the wattage should be prefect for them. The only way i see you can biamp these speakers is to do away with the crossover and wire it straiight to the amp.

If youre talking about bi-amping the you run the amps front channels to the crossover and then from the crossover to the tweeters inputs.
Then you run the rear channels straight to the mids inputs, bypassing the crossover. Youll be running the mid full range which is ok. Its natural roll off doesnt seem to be too far above its crossover point.
I had the exact same amp bi-amping a set of MMC690's and running the mid full range and they sounded great.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

i replaced the polk db 6.5 with these momo's there is a good bit of difference the sound is more natural and smoother sounding than the polk db. i finally have a all momo system and man its loud and clear. i decided not to biamp these speakers im just going to use the passive crossover that come with these and leave my four channel amp bridged to these.

Dont knock it til you try it bro.
I can almost guarantee ya, once you go bi, you'll never go back!
But seriously folks, you should at least try the bi-amping. When you first hook it up you may not like it but once you start fiddling with the settings and find that sweet spot, youll be glad you did.
When I had that amp on my 6x9's I had the mid's gains at 12:00 (noon postition) and the tweet's at 10:30 or so. That was the best setting for me.
You should try it. If you dont like it you can always go back.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

on my 4 channel amp i have a gain for channels one and two and a gain for three and four. Right now I have both of of my gains set at 3 o'clock position and it sounds good. I have my crossover set at 80 hz on the 6.5 speakers and on the 4x6 plates i have the crossover set at 125 hz.

This is way too high of a setting. Unless you have a factory head unit your amp is reaching 100% long before your volume is up to 75%. This is a very easy way to fry an amp and speakers.
Take it back down to the noon position at least.
Even better, go here to learn how to set your gains properly.Originally posted by exalted512

i have to turn it up to get the most out of them. if i turn it down to halfway they will not get as loud as i want. i like my **** loud lol. Anyways i think i need to put that momo 300x2 on them so i can set my gains at halfway.

Wont be very loud after your speakers are blown.
The gain is NOT a volume control. It merely matches your h/u's output with the amps. That way your amp is not at 100% when your head unit is at 25%.
Turn your gains down and turn your volume up.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

yeah i see what your saying that power is there at all times its not like the volume control. you don't turn the power up and down on the amp when you want to. Like the headunit.
