Okay I need everyones' pro input here.

Would you go with the
P9
or the
eclipse CD 8455

the eclipse DOES NOT DETACH (i detach everytime... ESN or not) but the eclipse is very expandable out of the box and offers 8v preouts.

the P9 has 4v preouts... hopefully they are truely rated... and the p9 is pretty sick as well.

alot of people have the eclipse... i can't find extensive reviews on the P9.

AND I DO NOT WANT MY LOCAL SHOP TOUCHING MY CAR..... in order to get the 3 year on the eclipse they have to install it. i'm willing to take the dash off and unplug then let them plug in but nothing else....

please suggestions.

i wouldnt really want them touching mine either, i would do exactly as you just said and check everything after you get it back. if its stolen within a year you get a new one no questions asked.

I've heard mixed thing about the eclipse. so the P9 should be an okay choice just a heftier price tag...

also i can get a decent battery as well... then see if I need the alt. my uncle suggests doing that before we go the alternator route anyways.

    one step at a time.

    nvm.

    doing the alt.
    battery.
    getting direct link for XM
    getting big IPOD
    getting kca 420I

lol kind of an odd change but I highly doubt I'm going to tell a major increase with my preouts. and 830 dollars is alot whenever everfyone who has heard my car is speechless.

    so close this thread.

    Get the P9.

Dont get me wrong, that Eclipse is a damn fine unit but I just think the P9 is probably the best head unit on the market right now.

Plus it looks pretty cool too. Reminds me of the old Denon units.

So that means you're not getting a new HU? What Alpine unit do you currently have?

    I'm happy with my 8454.

I'd talk to the shop, I'm sure many won't mind looking over it after you install it to get the full warranty.
