RTi8 vs RTi10
I am looking for opinion on the differance between the 8's and 10's. I like my 8's but I saw a pair of 10's for $500.00 on Audiogon. I am trying to get a little better mid sound and a little better base. I have Jolida hybrid at 100wpc. Two channel only.
Are the 10's that much better.
Thanks
Patrick

Obviously I'm biased, but I really like the 10's. I feel they have excellent midrange, and obviously more bass. Some may argue the 8's sound better because they have two mid drivers, but many many speakers are made with just one mid driver and they do wonderully. If it's just for music, I suggest the 10's, as they will give you a better soundstage, especially if you are not running a sub.Current System:

I have owned both the RTi8s and the RTi10s, and the RTi10s sounded better to me and I still have them today. The RTi8s had great mids, but are lousy at producing bass. The RTi10s give you the best of all worlds: highs, mids, and lows.Main Set-up: 55" 120 hz Samsung LN55B650, Onkyo TX-SR806, Emotiva XPA-5, Emotiva XPA-2, PS3 Slim, Sony BDP-S560, Apple TV (160g), Panamax M5300-PM, Polk Audio CSi5, RTi10's, FXi3's, RTi4's, and SVS PB12 Plus

If mostly for movies, I vote RTi8 plus a sub, if mostly for music, I vote RTi10 with or without a sub. If 50/50, flip a coin!

Thanks, I think the 10's are in the near future.

Make that 3 now!
As a truly full range floor standing music first speaker, the RTi10 is the better choice over the RTi8 IMO. -
The 10's are comming. They will be shipped June 29th.
Thanks for the info.
FYI. I tested B & W 603's and Canton ergo series. Just my opinion, but the Cantons sounded much, much better that the B & W's. (To be fair the Cantons were +-1000.00 each verses +- 500.00 each) so I was not compairing apples to apples. The Cantons were very smooth and liked my Jolida, they lacked base and that crisp clear highs the Polks seen to have, but nice, warm, rich, sound. IMO the Cantons are better quality than the Polks, BUT I liked the Polk sound better and the 10's are a grand cheeper. I'm like a kid in the candy store.

PRC be sure to let us know how you like them. I have the RT2000i which is basically the same as the RTi10 in a previous series except that the woofers have their own self powered built in amps, and I really like them a lot. A very fun speaker to listen to.
