Has anyone compared this amp to say a D6 series Diamond? I'm trying to decide which amp to run but haven't heard the Diamond yet and have only heard the Polk in a couple polk cars. Thoughts??

I haven't compared them, but I think diamonds come with lifetime warranty. Dunno if that counts.

if installed by an authorized dealer. I planned on installing it myself... I work with a lot of morons. Only one real good installer and he's to damn slow and that jacks up the price...

The Diamond amps are excellent! Ive always thought they were a little expensive though. A Diamond D6600.4 (75x4) retails at $770!!!!

Ill take the $400 Polk anyday.

The main thing that has me singing the praises of the Polk amp is that crossover. That is an awesome feature that very few amps have and virtually none at this price point have. When I get tired of my Crossfires and decide to upgrade, this 400.4 is on my short list.

They do, but the polk has an option for Pre-EQ which sets the crossovers to the most optimal configuration for bi-amping the 6.5" mmc's.

Didja bother to read my post?

Notice that nowhere in there did I state that no amps have crossovers, but finding any that have variable crossovers from 55-5.5 KHz on both front and rear channels for under $400 is gonna be tough.

Well NOW you explain yourself. Before it was "The main thing that has me singing the praises of the Polk amp is that crossover. That is an awesome feature that very few amps have and virtually none at this price point have." Sorry bro, but when I read it it sounded like you were saying "Hey, it has a crossover... WOW!" hahaha
