I have A polk csi5 center channel and 2 polk monitor 30 fronts. Could I use any of the polk sattelite speakers for this combination for a 7.1 system.

buy some rti6's for the front- and put your monitor 30's in the back.

THe front 3 should be timbrematched. The surrounds not necessarily.

you could however you will not get a seamless sound. I found a big diff went I bought my rti8's and moved my rti4 to the rears. Big diff. But if $$ is an issue you will do fine.

You first need to determine if a 7.1 system is what you need. Gotta have plenty for it to be worthwhile. A 5.1 system is best for most home applications.

You're off to a good start with your center channel. Buy the best speakers you can afford and don't worry about timbre matching for the rear/surrounds.
