Here are some pics of my ride this past Saturday at Palos Forest Preserve outide Chicago. I couldn't resize them on my comp, so I uploaded them to the Kodak OFoto website. The ravine that I'm riding down in two of the pics is a lot steeper than it looks. My friend and I rode 13 miles in 2 hours in 40 degree weather. We both wiped out once and now have some nice wounds!

Choose "View Photos without signing in" to view the pics. Hopefully the link below works.

Thats the kind of trails I like. Fun and relaxing.

I tried one of our quite complex trails a couple months ago and although Im proud to say I didnt have too many problems with any obstacles, it started to be more work than fun for me. Part of this may be because my bike is a tad too big for me.

Thats when I came to the realization I like the nice leisurely type of trails. Id rather just cruise along and enjoy the scenery.

yeah, the only trail i've hit is mostly technical. scenery is there, but your eyeballs must remail planted a few feet in front of you on the trail or else, kaploweee! i would love a nice long and leisurely ride through some forest or other trail. i always have my camelpak on my back. ready for a long one.

Yeah, I can understand people liking the real technical trails but they just arent for me. Id rather just cruise.

Its gotten pretty cold and nasty here lately so it looks as tho my riding days are over for a couple months.

where your days are ending, mine are just beginning. it's far too hot here in the desert to ride in the summer, or even the fall. yesterday we still got up to like 75 degrees. semi-technical is cool for me because i get more of a workout than just plain 'ole cardio. but it is sheer exhausting excersize the whole ride through. i need options.

I haven't been out on a trail on my bike in a while now... too busy with school and the new arrival of snow :D

Cool pictures. Looks like you've got about the same weather as we do right now.

Next time we go out there, I need to get some more pics. Most of the trails we ride are a lot harder than those shown, with the exception of the two of me riding down the ravine. That trail is pretty tough. It's hard to stop and take a picture most of the time, though as I don't want to lose my rythym. Most of the trails have several log crossings that are about 2' high and are a lot of fun to ride over. The first couple of times I was out there, I rode around them or carried my bike over them, but now I just pop a wheelie and ride them. I'm taking next Monday off and my riding buddy and I are going to do an all day ride if the weather cooperates. We're going to try to get at least 25 miles in.
