Quick...Sub Connect question

I currently have a dayon 10 inch sub from Parts express aka the baby boomer or something. It's doing the budget job for now, but the cable that came with it is the standard stero white and red RCA cable. The sub preout on my receiver has only one connector. I've been just hooking up one in from the sub and the only one out from the receiver.... and I'm wondering if I buy one of those 2 to one connectors to hookup to my amp would that make any difference?
Cliffnotes: Sub has two in connections, receiver has one out. Make any difference to get a 2 to one cable?
thanks,
Chris

Hi. They're called "Y" adapters.
And yes- they will make a difference but only in volume- by about 3db. i think.
