The filming for the National Parks Service for Ft. Necessity is over. It was a lot of long days and hard work but a lot of fun. It was great seeing and working with my friends from Northern Light Productions again. Got to make a bunch of new friends in the reenacting world, visit with my sister and meet Mark (doro) and George on the way home.
Last year (FT. Stanwix) I played three personas this year I played four and here are shots of three them....
In this picture, I'm on the right, friend Dan is on the left.

Meet my friend Ron. He's a Michigan State Conservation Law Enforcement Officer. How'd you like to see him bearing down on you with blood in his eyes, bloodied tomahawk in one hand and war club in the other, your musket is empty and you're fumbling for your knife.... We filmed a scene together and we were doing just that. I'm glad he's on my side!
(As a matter of fact, five reenactors present were from various police departments across the US.) -
Me in two tone paint.

That's awesome! What's the film going to be used for? Education? History? Perhaps the consequences of littering?

Nice Bob, keep up the great work!

Thanks guys.
This film will be shown and sold in the new Visitors Center the National Park at Fort Necessity, PA had built. It will teach the history of the start of the French & Indian War on this continent. (Known as the Seven Years War in Europe.) This Battle for Empire was actually the first world war. (Just as the American Revolution for all practical purposes was this country's first civil war.)
BTW- Dan in the first photo is a Lt. in the Army Reserves and should be on a training exercise right about now. People from all walks of life are involved in this way of life. There are plenty of doctors, lawyers, engineers, law enforcement, military, EMT and fire personel among us just to hit on a few. Working and retired folks both. Women and children of all ages take part. There will be around eleven to twelve hundred of us at Fort Ticonderoga, NY next weekend for the Grand Encampment of the French & Indian War (Fri. Sat. & Sun.) if anyone is within driving range and interested in history. -
Bob,
Will there be any reenactments around the time of the Polk HQ gathering? -
I'd really love to make the event but my September is pretty full. I'm busy 9, 10 and 11; 16,17 and 18; 23,24 and 25.
The weekend of the get together is also the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lake George which is only sixteen miles from me and members of my unit are on the organizing board. I'd probably get shot for real if I skipped out. RATS!
