You might want to preface with WHY the left wasn't 'working', and perhaps what peice of gear was involved.
I just pray that it wasn't one of those Amperex EL34's I GAVE you with the Marantz 8b.

Are Ampex, Mullard and Siemens really THAT good or is it mostly hype? I'm blown away by my SED, JJ and EH and can't imagine the EL34 sounding much better.

Maurice, go back to your hole. They are THAT good. Matched quad of high test Amperex EL34 went out with that amp, go back and read some of Hbomb's initial impressions.
On that note, you're about to **** your flat hat too, I boxed up your 6DJ8 goodies tonight. You should be so lucky.
Cheers,

It was the 6FQ7 that bit it...
Sorry for the late return.
Russ when you get some time I want to grab an entire compliment of tubes for my Quicksilver and the Marantz.
Thanks
