1-id like to build a sonotube so where do io buy the tube?
12" or 15"?

size and leigth of ports?
cost?
hrs and difficulty of construction?
yada yada yada ...

any help and advise would be GREATLY appreciated.

Try your local concrete supply company, the local Home Depot and Lowe don't have the big enough tubes (not in my area anyway) Also, sonotube is a brand name, but any of the concrete form tubes will do

    No pro here, but

Not sure if you asking about the tube size or the subwoofer driver size, but for heart beat changing teeth rattling, I would go 15" driver

depends on your driver and amp selction, but it is easy to get a great sub for around 500.00(150 driver, 200 amp, 80 for the tube, 30 or so of wood (MDF) screws and glue, 50 for the finish)

hard to say how long it will take you to make it, plan on 10-20 hours and it is not hard at all

    Yeah, what he said.

Since all the Ascendant drivers are probably gone, I would suggest getting one of the new AV12 or AV15 drivers from (former Stryke Audio). They are monster woofers.

my .02, go plate amp. ive tried both routes and plate amps always worked better for me. Maybe its what they were designed to do, i dont know. but i get much better performance in my DIY subs from a plate amp.

download a program called unibox ... its actually an excel worlcsheet with macros. You will need the specs of the driver first.

I would probably go plate amp because it already has features lilce crossover and phase.

My DIY Sonosub is a 24"x36" tube with 2-3"x17" flared port kits and a bit of batting wrapped around the inside of the sonotube. It has a single 15" Tempest driver and is powered by a 250w plate amp from Partexpress.
