Okay, that just might be a tad bit of OVERKILL. Just think what kind of rig one could build with 15 large. Don't get me wrong, if I just won the Powerball I could see myself spending 10x the avg persons salary on a sound system, but til that happens I'll have to just wish.:)

NOT.......I just cannot justify why anyone would want to even spend that much on a subwoofer, but if you have money to burn then so be it.

If I wanted a sub like that I'd buy the SVS B4 for $2500 that would almost surely be just as impressive (and destructive) as the Krell........
    comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

Hell, just hire Gonzo to come over and turn a staircase/wall into a massive (4) 18" house foundation destroying, balls shaker.

Yup, for $15K you could easily outdistance the performance of that Krell. Hell, just scatter 15 SVS PC-Ultras around the room...

Very impressive. before I considered buying it, I'd try to build it for a fraction of the BIN price.

Retail price is $35K??? Are you kiddin' me? For that price, you can buy a brand new car.
HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50” LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I have to believe that Krell was looking for the people that had to have "the best" and cost is not an issue. All of their Master Reference Theat. products are way overbuilt, and priced to the extreme. I guess if you have the money you would have the heaviest system around:p as well as the most powerful 1000W of Class A power at 8 Ohms, 16K Watts at .5 Ohm. and all for a mono amp that weighs in at 600 plus pounds each...

And a pretty damn nice one at that.

IMO, it's a waste of an outstanding Class A amp to be put to use to drive a sub.

If I had the $ to throw away, yes, maybe...

This Krell subwoofer has been listed on eBay countless times. I have seen it as cheap as $3000.00 for buy it now. At that time I had the money ( but it was for the upcoming year of college) sitting in the bank and I thought about buying it just to play around with it with and putting it back on eBay after a few weeks but I never went through with it :\ .

O well. Also I have heard stories on review websites about this monster. This one rich guy put it on his yacht and the sub would actually move his boat in the water when turned up loud! Something about the vibrations it caused to go through the boat. Talk about finding many uses

You have got to be kidding me right? I have seen one listed as low as 10K by Harvey Elec. on ebay, but it was a scratch and dent sale.

if you find one for 3 PM me......I'll make an exception to my better judgment and not tell the wife where the money went:D
