Might need to find a replacement fan for a ADCOM 5800?

Hey all I got a full setup from a friend recently, Polk SRT speakers and 3 ADCOM amps, the 5800 Adcom amp has 2 fans in it and he told me he thought the fans might be bad, and need replaced.
There is a thermal shutdown light on the front of each side of the amp and it will shutdown either channel of the amp if it gets to hot, and was doing this allot I guess.

I got it home and opened it up, took out the 2 fans and cleaned them and the inside of the amp, the whole inside was VERY dusty, thick matted dust and dirt.
Plugged back in the fans and plugged in the amp, the fans won't move at all. so maybe they are bad. I hooked each of the up to a regular little household ac/dc converter (9VDC 350ma) that powers my wireless phone and and they start right up!
I got out a volt meter and tested the output of the fan jacks on the amp and got around maybe 3-4 vdc, seems a little low to me.
Maybe the amp makes the fan go faster when it gets hotter? I am not putting any load on the amp when I am doing this.
I suck at electricity stuff like this!

I tried calling ADCOM direct and they were no help at all, they wouldn't sell me a replacement fan only a whole chassis for around 100$.
I shopped around on the internet and the only fans I can find anyway, to replace them would be 120mm x 120mm x 25m fans that are made for PC cooling, but they are all listed as using 12vdc

Not sure if I need to replace the fans or the whole amp?
anyone have any suggestions? I would hate to replace the ADCOM 5800 with a 5802 they are allot of money for me anyway.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
