Lsi9 Bi amping??

If I Use The Lsi Bi amping feature would each amp be experiencing 4 Ohms or 8? It seems to me that it would be 8 Ohms because w/ the jumpers on in parallel, the amp is experiencing 4 Ohms so seperate the two and you have two 8 Ohm loads, correct??? Help me out here I am planning on bi-amp to my center channel an I need to know the impedence!
Thanks!

Unless I'm mistaken, it's 4 ohms, it's how the crossover works. I'd suggest, with the LSi, just get an amp that can handle 4 ohms anyways, it'll be higher quality than a receiver ever could be.

I am not worried about the 4 Ohm with a reciever. I have a Rotel amplifier that I am using for my center channel and I wanted to know wether or not it was 4 or 8 when I split it up. I am not using a reciever to power my speakers so the 4 Ohm is not a problem it is a good thing! Thanks for your response! Does any body know that this will be for sure 4 Ohms???

It's 4 ohms... the rule for parallel only applies for the shared frequencies. so right at the crossover freq. you might even see a dip to 2 ohm, but for freq's above & below it'll be 4 ohm nominal (and when you unhook those jumpers it'll still be 4 ohm).

That is the answer I was looking for! Thanks so much! If I bridge the amplifier I will only get 180 watts but if I run seperate channel mono into each, I get 110 and 110! Again thanks for the answer!

Right... which is why you should almost NEVER bridge mono. 99% of the time there's a better setup that doesn't involve bridging.
