Is anyone interested in these before I throw them on Audiogon?

They have been factory rebuilt, MINT condition, original boxes and packing material....you know I don't F around with lame shite.

I'm not posting this to play games with prices as I know the prices on gear via Audiogon and Orion, as well as a couple other low level sources....it's simply an interest check.

This pair will go to Audiogon within 48 hours, period.

If want to get your hands on a pair of Magnepan, this is the best deal you will find period for a pair of 1.5QR.

What's the reason for selling dorokusai? I bought the bigger pair.

The Magnepan brand is here to stay in my book....along with a couple other pieces, ala SDA and Mission.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Are these shippable? What kind of price are we looking at here? What did you replace them with?

    James,

The Counterpoint/Magnepan combo here kept the upgrade bug at bay for nearly 15 years. If my MG-Is hadn't of "Lemony Snicketed" me, it's very likely I would have never discovered SDAs. There's really something quite magical, a true synergy, between your "new" amp and Maggies. I hope you have the same perception.

Yup, they sound different then on the Carver, that's for sure. Of course I've only had an ear on them for about 2 hrs so far on the 3.3R's. I'll eventually get back to SDA's, but not for a while.

RNP/JDH - They are being replaced with Magnepan 3.5R's. I do not like to ship speakers, but am undecided on that fact for now.

If local or pickup is an option for someone, that would certainly be my preference.

$1000. It's below Ebay by $100-250 and the Ebay offerings weren't rebuilt from the factory. This fact is 100% documented by Magnepan. These are essentially, brand new. I received a good deal on these, and I'm just trying to recoup exactly what I have in them....nothing more, nothing less.

James - I feel the same way, SDA's are the last thing on my mind....hell, I think it's been 8 months with no SDA's....just collecting dust. 10 pairs later....I've been there, done that.

Don't let James spend all his $ on speakers Mark, he needs to buy these modded Knight Tube mono's sitting here first.

    Cheers,

Actually, that combo would be simply outstanding. Maybe we need to prod James to get his sell on, and give him some time? ;)

The collecting of gear is cool for awhile but eventually it's useless. If it isn't being used, there is simply no point in having it....I say this as I look into my spare room....tube monoblocks, amps, cdp's, speakers, blah blah. This is a sickness and you know exactly what I mean.

You're right. If it isn't being used or will be used in the near future, it doesn't need to be there.

I HAVE to get down to the spare room, BEFORE you have a fire sale...;)

Yeah, you guys are kinda harsh! :D

Get my sell on? I have already sold three pairs of speakers, an amp, and a receiver in the past 2 months. I don't have THAT much stuff...

Russ, the funds for that particular item are already secure, but yeah, I better let someone else jump on this until after the move...

Any chance I can pick these up tomorrow, count one as my carry on, and the other as my personal item for my flight back to Seattle?

Shelby - Sure, it's actually only one box, 65HX16WX5D.....just say it's a room divider.

Airplay - Yea, certainly don't do anything crazy like that....one must have sound you know ;) Looking at them just won't have the same effect.

Yep. My goal is to trim down to 2 rigs (not including the HT). Good thing I bought a lot of stuff used off Agon where I can sell it back near the same price.

Having experienced the "old" Maggie/SVS setup firsthand...if the "new" Maggie/SVS rig is bettter then "audio nirvana" must be close at hand.
