i'm genuinly considering pulling the trigger on this. all the homework i've done seems to indicate it would be a good choice (including what people have told me here in the past).

its either that or the Cambridge audio 640 Azur.

if i go for the Ah!, it seems the only place i can get it is upscale audio.com how are they? reputable? never heard of them before.

    BTW, did you also consider the Jolida JD-100? Just wondering.

    Don't have any experience w/ upscaleaudio.com. I'd go with the Ah! over the Cambridge. The Cambridge is a very capable unit, but the Ah1! is better. The Jolida would be a good choice as well

    I bought my Tjoeb 4000 directly from Upscale Audio. No problems whatsoever. Had it about 5 months now. Very helpful folks.

    Advice: spend the extra for the upsampler. It's a phenomenal upgrade.

    Either the Ah! or the Jolida would be a great choice, both are better than the Cambridge.

    I'm really stretching over my budget for the Ah, but it seems to be worth it. cant stretch for the ad on's yet, but it seems i can at any time (very upgradable). The Jolida looks nice, but i had enough trouble stretching to the Ah's price point, and the jolida seems to be bit higher.

    thanks for the feedback, especially on the upscaleaudio sight.

    I'll keep you posted when i act either way.

    Lou, check Audiogon for both, used price for the Jolida has been running between $400 and $600. The Ah! is harder to come by, but they do pop up.

    LOL, nah, if i wanted to shut out the CD player opinions, i'd tell ya :D

    in all seriousness, i allways here people chime in about the Jolida, it must be a fine CD player. I've never used audiogon, hence my reservation (i'm bad with new things sometimes)

    i might surf around and see what i can find.

    again, i'll keep ya posted.

    allright, for those that are interested, i checked audiogon for the Jolida, and found a post for the Jolida JD 100A from Underwood Hifi. thay had over 5000 on feedback rating, which seems pretty good. i left a message and Wally called me back in like 2 minutes. He said 780 shipped for a silver Jolida. Since this is right where the price for the Njoe Tjoeb was, i pulled the trigger immediatly

    let the comments commence :D

    seriously, I assuming i made a good move here, I figured the chance to get it new made me feel a little better.
