Sunfire vs Outlaw

I have received my lsi 9s and my fx's are on the way. All to match my lsi center. I am still using my onkyo 989 and I have to say the 9's are outstanding. I notice more bass and a more clear sound. Now back to the amp. I have been looking at the Sunfire used 5 x 200. My problem is it has to be mint. My other option would be the Outlaw 755 new. Which for the price it's not bad. My decision has to be made soon, for the onkyo is not rated 4 ohms. One thing I have to add. I contacted onkyo on the 4 ohms question. They told me as lomg as all speakers were 4 ohms there would not be a problem. Who do you believe. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks guys as always. Doug

I haven't heard the Outlaw, But I haven't heard anything bad about them either...

I have a Sunfire Ultimate. Love it. Built like a tank.

My opinion is biased, but I'd take the Sunfire Cinema Grand. That 200w per channel is at 8 ohms. At four ohms, it's 400w per channel.

I believe that Onkyo doesn't have enough power to make those Lsi's sound half as good as they can. Get the Sunfire and don't look back.

Although I have no experience with Outlaw, I've read a lot of reviews. Most of them were decent, but one thing I noticed rather consistently was that the Outlaw amps did not showcase as much inner detail as other high end amps. Personally, I think Sunfire is a great product, and has a lot of really good background and a solid performance record. Plus, Sunfire tends to run cooler than a lot of other high end amps. Take the Sunfire if you can, you will be more than happy with the results.

Well after all your kind advice I have made a buy. I went with a new Sunfire cinema grand series 2. The choice was difficult, but after reading up on the Sunfire it was the winner. A coolrunner, lite in weight with a low impetdance. All these things added up to what I was looking for. I of course paid more, but as I was told buy it and Mnew ampdon't look back. Thanks
