Got up a bit early today to go troll around some yard and estate sales. in hopes i mind find that golden audio egg on da cheap.

Found a few so so pieces in really good condition.

I missed out by about a minute or two an a big **** Kenwood model 9 receiver.. for $10 in average condition. Needed a good cleaning.. but it would have been nice afterwards.. silver faced and 130wpc! ugh.

After going to several more yard sales i found another couple pieces i was interested in.. but none of the seller would budge on their prices.. one EQ even said "make offer" so i did.. and they turned it down and wouldn't budge on the price. so i left empty handed.

Only decent score today is a Kenwood Quartz tuner model KT-58 i got for $6. work great and is a 9 out or 10 on condition. ;) otherwise.. a rough crowd day out there. think i'll go to the beach instead. :p

Some days are good, some bad. I think I had a good one. Stopped by my local Goodwill, the clerk asked me if I was still looking for stereo stuff. Sure I said, so he went to the back and rolled out a cart loaded down. The first thing that caught my eye were the Phase Linear rack handles.... a 3000 Series two preamp. Ok, plus a Soundcraftsmen MA5002 (250wpc) amp. Ok, plus a Soundcraftsmen SP4002 preamp and a ST6001 Tuna. All of them were priced at 19.01 each. Yea, I reluctantly went ahead and got them since he went through so much trouble to show them to me. All of them are working perfect. The tuna output level control may need a little cleaning but wow, a deal and a half.

    Goodwill............
That ORG. got me rehooked on stereo listening when I walked up on two boxes sitting in front of their store one saturday.
In them were perfect POLK Monitor 10s. I mean PERFECT..$25 pr.
I heard music that I was missing and now I go quite often.
Kurt Cobain ,I think , used to frequent Goodwill too.
My neighbor told me he saw a guy carrying a sub woofer out to his car one day from there. He does not know what brand it was but he saw it was powered and had THREE port holes!!!! He missed IT by a few minutes too. Probably $25 . It sure is an adrenaline rush for me to see nice equipment in there . Ohm Walsh 2 ..speakers come to mind that I got for $25 also.
    happy hunting
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Too bad, nothing else could salvage the day?

Costume Jewelry? A Tiara? Pink Goose Feather Boa?

WOW Tony. you scored big time..

why would ANYONE donate a nice good quality pair of Monitor 10's?

that's just wrong.. not that GW and other like them.. don't deserve good high quality items.. they do. But they could have jacked up the price to double and the buyer still would have gotten a good deal. :p

Russ. I already got those items listed. Anything I can pick up for you on my next trip there? :)

Micah never sent back my ****-less leather chaps that I loaned him, so if you see any - feel free to spend away, I'll reimburse accordingly.

IF I ever get rid of it you have first dibs. I may keep it cause that sumditch looks like an amp should. Saw one go for 400 last week on ebay. Right now I've got HT using an HK AVR85 with a Carver TFM-35 fronts and TFM-25 center. I may let the MA5002 bring up the rear.
